The Gladstone International Conference was jointly sponsored by Chester College and St Deiniol's Library. The volume entitled: Gladstone Centenary Essays (edited by David Bebbington and Roger Swift, Liverpool University Press, 2001) reproduces the main conference papers and this volume gathers together many of the short papers.
