"The Herefordshire Pomona was created by the Woolhope Naturalists Field Club of Herefordshire. It was originally issued in seven parts which were bound together in two volumes to form The Herefordshire Pomona we know today. Published in 1885, six hundred copies were printed with no expense spared. They are now scarce and highly sought after. This version of The Herefordshire Pomona contains copies of all the 77 coloured plates and the corresponding sections and text descriptions of the 432 varieties of fruit. It also contains the lists of local cider apples and perry pears as well as the lists of varieties which the Woolhope Club recommended for planting" - Intro.
