Descriptive Notes

"In Klent in Cowbacke, Kenelm, king's child, lieth under a thorn, his head taken from him." 'Cowbacke' was originally interpreted as meaning a cow pasture but is now thought to derive from the old English term 'beck' meaning rivulet or stream.
