'... in January 1973, the Biological Engineering Society organised a conference in London on "Education, Training and Careers in Bio-Medical Engineering", to bring together those concerned with basic education, subsequent training in the health services and related fields as well as those who were already so employed or who were contemplating such a career. The papers presented at this conference are reproduced in Part I of this book and Part II contains details of all known courses at present conducted in the United Kingdom. The third part of the book gives information about the Biological Society and its activities' - Preface.
